Lifeboat (1944)
Set in the Atlantic during World War II, "Lifeboat" follows the aftermath of a battle where both an Allied ship and a German U-boat are sunk. Survivors from the Allied ship, each from diverse backgrounds—including an international journalist, a wealthy businessman, the radio operator, a nurse, a steward, a sailor, and an engineer with communist leanings—congregate in a lifeboat. Tensions arise when they rescue a man from the water who is discovered to be from the U-boat.
