It Conquered the World (1956)

A disgruntled scientist, Dr. Tom Anderson, helps guide an alien from Venus to Earth. The alien, one of the last of its kind, plans to control humanity by attaching mind control devices to select victims chosen by Anderson—including Anderson’s old friend, Dr. Paul Nelson. After witnessing the effects of the alien’s control and destroying a flying creature that carries the devices, Nelson finally convinces Anderson that aligning with the alien is a grave mistake. Their realization comes too late, as Anderson’s determined wife, Claire, arms herself and heads to the alien’s cave to confront the invader herself.
