Beyond Mombasa (1956)

Matt Campbell arrives in Kenya after his brother George is reported missing. He learns from Ralph Hoyt that George has supposedly been killed by members of the mysterious "Leopard Men" cult. Matt meets Hoyt's niece, Ann Wilson, an anthropologist, and expresses reluctance to attend his brother's funeral in Mombasa. He also encounters Gil Rossi, a big-game hunter who was assisting George in searching for a valuable uranium mine—a mine which Hoyt claims does not exist. Another partner, Elliott Hastings, asserts that George was cremated but provides a map he found. Matt and Ann join an expedition beyond Mombasa, guided by Ketimi and local tribesmen. As their journey progresses, Matt and Ann grow closer after a harrowing encounter with hippos, while Gil narrowly escapes an alligator attack thanks to Hastings. That night, tribesmen disguised as leopards attack Hastings. Soon after, Ketimi is killed by a poison dart, scattering the remaining guides. When Matt and Ann discover a mine shaft, they descend into it, only for Ann to witness Hoyt murder Gil with a blowgun. Hoyt confesses to killing Ketimi and orchestrating the Leopard Men attacks to cover his crimes. Just as Hoyt threatens Matt and Ann, local tribesmen return to exact their revenge.
